Spring Cleaning - Planting the Seeds for a Healthy Survivorship.  There's nothing like those first few warm, breezy days of spring to lighten your mood, simplify and start afresh.  Allow the change of seasons to motivate you to get a jump start on spring-cleaning all areas of your life.  Join us as we renew our mental, physical and emotional selves so we can create the energy and momentum to propel us to a happier and healthier lifestyle.  Come alone or bring your mom, your daughter or girlfriend.  This is a day for sisterhood, learning and reinventing yourselves!

18th Annual Contemporary Issues in Trauma Nursing 2015

This one-day course is intended for staff nurses, nurse managers and educators practicing in the area of trauma nursing and critical care and pre-hospital providers.

Contact hours will be awarded for this activity.  Continuing Education Credits have been applied for from Beaumont Health System, department of Scholarship, Quality & research, which is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.  The approved number of credits will be determined by the date of the conference.

Participants must sign in, attend the entire workshop and complete an evaluation requirement to receive all contact hours. Topic Discussions:  

  • Recognize the motivational role that communication plays between the healthcare provider and patient.
  • Describe one mechanism of injury contributing to eye trauma.
  • Discuss the impact of social media on employment.
  • Identify challenges associated with pediatric trauma.
  • Develop an understanding of the use of palliative care in the inpatient setting.
  • Familiarize the learner with the treatment of underlying osteoporosis in traumatic injury cases
  • Examine methods of management of catastrophic traumatic extremity injuries.
  • Describe a trauma patient's journey from admission to rehab.
